Maths & Fractions

For maths I have been learning about fractions.

The breakdown of a fractions is:- 1/4   1=numerator     4=denominator  this means that it is one part out of four.

We have been learning about equivalent, proper and improper and mixed fractions.

Improper fraction = 16/5   the numerator is larger than the denominator

Proper fraction = 1/2

Mixed fraction = 3 1/4 is a whole number and a fraction

Equivalent fraction is 2/8 = 1/2, 3/6 = 1/2, 3/9 = 1/3

Equivalent fractions are fractions with different numbers representing the same part of a whole. They have different numerators and denominators, but their fractional values are the same.
