End of Year Formal Dinner formal

 On Tuesday I went to Formal/Year 8 dinner when got me and my friends walked in together when we got in the hall  there were sets i n the back we sat on the set for about one a half hour then we started to dance with all of the boy that were in our circle me and my friend were having good time then it was time to have the dinner on the menu there was brisket and we had salad and we also had desert I had cake and a ice cream ball after that my friend and i started to play a game  if the ball touch the ground you lose and after that we asked if we could sing just for fun we singed let it go then it was time to go.

 

Belonging

 For our belonging art I did a rugby player because i like rugby because i like  physical sport i have played for a club this year for New Brighton. Also in high school i am also play rugby for Shirley boys so that is how the picture belongs to me i feel like everyone will respect me for being in the rugby team so that is where i belong. 

What does the city sound like at night?

At night all you can hear is birds chirping and the wind blowing through the trees. Also you can see

cars doing burnouts and cars racing. You can also hear the crunching of the branches when you walk

in the parks. You can also see people going for walks. You can hear the flickering of the lights and if it's

raining you hear the rain hitting the ground and the car tyres  squeaking on the wet and if there is a storm

in the city you can hear the thunder and the wind whistling in between the trees and buildings. I can also

hear myself thinking about stuff in my head.   

Maths & Drawing instruments

For math we have been learning how to draw shapes using a compass and protractor.  I did a flower with a compass and ruler. This is how it turned out. On Monday we learnt how to draw triangles given two angles and then on Tuesday we learnt how to draw a triangle using a compass only.

Taonga Puoro-Putatara

This week we have been learning about the Taonga Puoro especially the  Putatara instrument and we had to research about the instruments. Below is a video of how a putatara is made.

Today we have research about the Taonga puroro and the instruments of Taonga puroro.

Math - Ratio

 We are learning about ratio and proportion. First of all we are learning about ratio's.Today for Nogo's math group we  

went out to the car park and started counting the cars, SUV, trucks and others to put them into a ratio. This came to a ratio 25:12:3:1. 

Then we had to find the ratio of white cars to red cars, Which was 11:3

The total number of vehicles in the car park altogether came to 41. 

Then we came back and started working it out. Then we had to put them into a fraction. e.g. 25/41, 12/41, 3/41, 1/41.
