Math - Ratio
We are learning about ratio and proportion. First of all we are learning about ratio's.Today for Nogo's math group we
went out to the car park and started counting the cars, SUV, trucks and others to put them into a ratio. This came to a ratio 25:12:3:1.
Then we had to find the ratio of white cars to red cars, Which was 11:3
The total number of vehicles in the car park altogether came to 41.
Then we came back and started working it out. Then we had to put them into a fraction. e.g. 25/41, 12/41, 3/41, 1/41.

The public holiday was originally on 15 December the anniversary day of the old Canterbury province marking the arrival of the First Four Ships. It was moved to the Friday of Show Week sometime between.
The reason for the Canterbury anniversary was moved to a Friday because Canterbury Anniversary Day commemorates the arrival of the first two boats carrying emigrants from England the Charlotte Jane and the Randolph on December 16 1850. The date was moved to the second Friday after the first Tuesday of November between 1955 and 1958 to coincide with Christchurch Show Day.
